Over the past decade I have been lucky enough to have worked in all of the hatted restaurants of the Northern Rivers Region including Dish, Boomerang, Fins and most recently Harvest.
As well as managing these restaurants I have had general manager experience with Becton Development Company at the Northbeach site which offered me a look into working with a much larger company. After this I worked as Operations Manager at Songbirds at Mount Tambourine which has won numerous awards for its excellence in its restaurant operations and fine boutique accommodation including winning the honour of ‘Best Restaurant in Queensland’ at Restaurant and Catering Awards.
My family has been connected in wine for a long time and I have done numerous vintages at many wineries around Australia offering me a broad knowledge on the wine Industry. As well as this, I have completed many Master Classes in wine and I am a member of the Master Sommeliers Association based in the UK.
My most recent role – moving into sales at first seemed like moving to the dark side but I now know that I can deliver and offer more to both the customer and talented industry people – enabling a vision from both sides of the fence is of great advantage.
I’m very excited about our partnership with Black Sombrero for our first Master Class – we have some incredible wines matched with some amazing dishes. And what a perfect alignment of the stars that it will be Earth Hour that night! Masterclass by candlelight – what a treat!
